VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

Development and Communications - Community Disaster Education Presenter

Purpose:                         To provide disaster education and disaster preparedness information to companies, organizations, clubs and schools

Key Responsibilities:      ●Conduct and manage presentations in a professional environment

●Equip students and participants with vital knowledge of disasters and how to prepare and react to them

●Answer questions regarding the American Red Cross-High Desert Chapter

Qualifications:             ●Interest in people and the ability to work well with volunteers and paid staff

●Thorough knowledge of the Mission, Fundamental Principles, history and services of the American Red Cross

●Strong communication and interpersonal skills

●Basic computer skills

●Ability to provide quality customer service

●Knowledge of general office protocol, procedures and equipment

●Professional appearance and manner

●Bi-lingual Spanish/English as plus

Training/Criteria:            ●Complete Volunteer Application

●Complete online background check

●Complete New Employment and Volunteer Orientation

●Complete fulfilling the Mission training course

●On the job training as necessary

 

Development and Communications - Fundraising/Event Planning Volunteer

Purpose:                         To support the Chapter with the coordination of fundraising activities and events

Key Responsibilities:      ●To assist with coordinating sponsorship for events

●To help develop events and fundraisers from conception to completion

Qualifications:                ●Interest in developing connections with large corporations around the community

●Ability to work with staff, volunteers and sponsors

●Professional appearance and manner

●Strong communication and interpersonal skills
